I am so excited about our Toddler time at the Ridge. What a treat to get to see many of our Wee
Ones on Wednesdays as well as Sundays!
We are also seeing a bunch of new friends at story and gym time each
week. I have such a great time planning,
preparing and engaging with these kids as story time! Having been a stay at home mom myself back a
few years I know what an outing during the week with other adults meant to
me. It was also a great time for my
girls to play and interact with other kids.
My girls are now 14 and 16 and we just started
college visits with our oldest who is a junior this year. It seems like when they were little some days
went by very slowly, but now it seems as if the years have flown by. I know all of you have heard how you will
look back on the lives of your children and wonder where the time went, but
right now you are thinking will they ever be potty trained, tie their shoes,
dress themselves, etc.
I want to offer
encouragement that they will do these things and the seasons of parenthood will
shift. Being the mom of two teenagers I
also would like to offer encouragement that the teen years are neat too! I am learning to savor each season, but not
be afraid of the next, as God has a plan for all of us and though difficult to
let go, our children are always in His hands.
Some days it is easier for me to have faith in this than others but I
feel less apprehensive about sending them out into the world knowing that God
has their back. It isn’t all up to my
husband and me to protect them from things, but to lead them to God, the Great
Protector.
I am honored to spend time
with your kids and be a part of introducing them to this great God. Trust me when I say that Wednesday and Sunday
mornings are an awesome blessing to me!
See you soon,
Jeanne Hirsch
