Where do you turn? By Pastor Bruce
Some have called this current time the “decade of disappointment.” For many people and of all ages, plans have not unfolded as they have hoped - delays and detours are their daily lived realities. Some banter about “the economy.” Some blame the institutions as greedy and corrupt. Where do you turn?
In the big picture, life is not based on institutions, or on my ability to plan or order life to work well. So when discouragement or disappointment creeps in … and they do … I first realize life is messy and that it will be that way until I am home with Jesus. Then, I become a Psalmist again and grace brings me back to the only security there is – God and God’s promises.
“God keeps track of the decent folk; what they do won't soon be forgotten. In hard times, they'll hold their heads high; when the shelves are bare, they'll be full.” (Psalm 37:18-19 - The Message)
