Over
the past season I have been in a lengthy discerning process where I have been
listening to God in regards to my future. God has spoken and moved in my heart
during this time, and after 13 years of being a part of the PRC staff in many
different roles and capacities I will be leaving my position at The Ridge and
assuming a new role as Sr. Director of Programs at Greater Des Moines Habitat
for Humanity.
This
announcement is one that is packed full of mixed feelings and emotions me.
Being a part of the church staff has been much more than a job for me. It is has been a rare gift that the lines of
work, friendship, spiritual growth, emotional support, healing, challenge, fun
& service (just to name a few) have mysteriously blurred all together into
one beautiful experience called a job.
For these reason and many more I will miss and in many ways greave
leaving the roles that I am currently in.
As
my family and I navigate this change we are reminded of 2 very important and
exciting things. 1) Leaving the church staff does not mean we are leaving the
church. We are excited to continue to
grow together with this church community and we look forward to finding
ourselves in some new places of growth and service. 2) I am thrilled to take my
experiences and learning’s from this place and bring them to the mission of Habitat
for Humanity. The work that Habitat is
doing in the Metro is important work, and I am excited to share the love of
Jesus and serve in this new adventure.
I
fully acknowledge that change can be hard, but I have all the confidence in the
world in the staff team that is in place here.
The leadership of the church is in good hands. I am trusting in the good
work that God has in store for us all.
So even though this is not the last you will hear from me or see me, I
wanted to say thank you- for making my time as a staff member of the church so
meaningful. I look forward to the
seasons ahead as we follow the work of the Spirit together. Thank you for
allowing me to lead and work at The Ridge for the past 13 years. It is a gift I will treasure for life.
Faithfully
following,
Kevin

Good luck!
For being one of your reliably consistent challenges during much of your time at PRC, you're welcome. I'm confident you will be Blessed through this new adventure before you.
