Hide & Seek by Pastor Mike


When my daughter Lilly was two years old, her favorite game to play was hide and seek…with a twist. She wanted to be the all-time “hider”. Fine with me because I’m rather impartial to being the “hider” or the “seeker”. I’d begin counting: :1…2…3…4…5…6…7…8…9…10…ready or not here I come!” I’d open my eyes, step into the family room…and there she was…right smack dab on the sofa. Not hidden. Not concealed. Not hard to find. Every single time. And when I found her she squealed with delight. Why? Because she wanted to be found.

And so does God. “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). God’s desire is not to be hard to find or distant or aloof. He wants to be found. It gives Him great delight. I’m excited about what is happening at The Ridge this fall. Hundreds of us have committed to seeking God through reading and reflecting on the Bible. I’m trusting that as we look and listen for Him through the next 100 days, we will find Him. Perhaps He’ll be sitting smack dab on the sofa!
