Today’s prayer focus is for Small Groups, Singles Ministry and Spiritual Growth!

We are blessed at The Ridge with many Small Group leaders that are intentional about connecting people and helping people grow spiritually.  That’s why they have been willing to take on the role of Small Group Leader.  Will you join me in praying for them?   In a church the size of The Ridge, small groups are a way for people to find a place to belong, to connect with others.   They are an integral part of discipleship here.

We have started a new Young Singles Ministry here at The Ridge!  We try to pay attention to what God is doing in our midst.  It became clear earlier this Spring that there are many singles in our midst post-college to mid-30’s!  And, in His goodness, He has provided amazing leadership for this ministry!   A Bible study for young single women will start Monday, September 14.  A Bible study for young single men starts Saturday, September 12.  And, there will be some fellowship activities this fall for men and women to participate in!  Please pray for continued wisdom, guidance & direction for the leaders of this ministry and that a welcoming community for young singles will continue to grow in our midst!

Spiritual Growth – our desire at The Ridge is that each person here would continue to take “next steps” to deepen their relationship with God.   Each one of us is on a life-long journey with our Creator!    There are a couple of verses that come to mind:  Ephesians 2:10:  “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”  Our hope is that as we pursue God, we find our unique calling & purpose!  The other verse that is appropriate, especially for this season at The Ridge, with new classes starting and small groups welcoming new members, isHebrews 10:24-25:  “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”

Join us in praying for revival in our midst!  A season of stepping out in faith and joining the community of believers as we dig deeper into God’s Word, deeper into community, and as a result can impact our community as we live it out in the world!

Matthew 5:14-16:  “You are the light of the world.  A city on a hill cannot be hidden.  Neither do the people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.  Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.  In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.”
